Teehaus Kanshoan

About

Close to "Haus der Kunst" on the southern edge of Englischer Garten and on a tiny island sitting in the calm Schwabinger Bach river you can visit the Japanese Teahouse, Kanshoan. From April through to October visitors can attend a Japanese tea ceremony and learn about the principles of the "Way of Tea" of the Urasenke tea school in order to reach peace of mind. Check out their website for more information about booking a ticket and the scheduled dates for the ceremonies. Even if you're not taking part in a ceremony, the area surrounding the Japanese Teahouse offers a quiet place to relax for a little while and enjoy the nature of the park.
