Floßlände River Surfing

The surf spot is popular for its remote location and the laid back and friendly atmosphere. Flößlände is a man-made anabranch of Isar river in the Thalkirchen area and this wave is considered to be the birthplace of river surfing some 50 years ago. Unlike at the spots in Englischer Garten, beginners are welcome and the wave is mellower, yet fickle at times. Don't hesitate to ask the skilled surfers for tips if needed! The surf season runs from beginning of May to the end of September. Unfortunately, the man-made river remainsvmostly dry during the rest of the year.
