About
Museum Brandhorst is a museum for modern art located in the north-eastern corner of "Kunstareal". The striking facade identifies the building from afar as a place of art. A large part of the museum's exterior was clad with 36,000 vertically fixed ceramic rods, that are glazed in 23 different colours.
Rather than giving an overview of modern and contemporary art, the museum's collection offers a deeper inside into the works of selected artists. You'll find important works by artist such as Cy Twombly, Damien Hirst or Andy Warhol and many more.
The museum sees itself as a place of creativity and free thinking and above all also offers special opportunities for children and young people to engage with art. Under the title "Factory", the museum is planning to launch both a physical space and an online platform from winter 2022 onwards, where children can become creative themselves.
