UKIYO

UKIYO is a restaurant for contemporary Japanese cuisine only a stone's throw away from Viktualienmarkt. The interior of this place is decorated in pleasant pastel colours, designer chairs and tables are made of oak wood and tasteful lighting elements hang from the 4-metre-high ceiling, which creates a beautiful sense of space. The centrepiece of the open-plan space is a large bar made of white travertine.

When it comes to Japanese food, you get your money's worth here. You can start off with finely flavoured miso soup with salmon or indulge in crispy silken tofu with dashi sauce, spring onions, ginger & radish. Both very delicious! But of course the main part is played by the excellent sushi, such as Tsukimi Maguro, tuna cubes with Uzura (raw quail egg) or White Cucavo, made of avocado, cucumber, rocket & cream cheese & sesame. The menu offers a selection of sashimi, negiri and maki variations. Finally, leave room for a typical Japanese dessert, such as mochi and berries, which perfectly round off the meal.

The restaurant is also open for lunch and, weather permitting, you can enjoy your meal outside and watch the hustle and bustle of Rumford Street.
