Buchheim Museum

Museum Buchheim is set beautifully in an enchanted park, directly on the banks of Lake Starnberg, north of the municipality of Bernried. The so called "Museum of Fantasy" displays an excellent and eclectic art collection, at its core important works of Expressionism. The modernist building is divided up into an open, multi-segmental structure, with each segment dedicated to a specific collection. A unique architectural feature is the deck that is suspended twelve-meters high over the lake, providing visitors with a great view across the lake and right to the Alps. This is a perfect destination for a day trip away from Munich.
