In order to escape the intensity of LA you can go for a hike to San Vincente Mountain Park in the heart of the eastern Santa Monica Mountains above an unpaved portion of Mulholland Drive. On the hike you will encounter a former anti-aircraft missile launch site, operated by the US military during the Cold War. A platform offers stunning 360-degree views of the greater Los Angeles area.
